I-80 Now Open (Update)

UPDATE – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation advises drivers that sections of Interstate 80 eastbound are now open in Clinton and Northumberland counties. The westbound lanes opened earlier this evening. 

The open sections are I-80 Eastbound between the Lock Haven/178 interchange in Clinton County and the Milton/212B interchange in Northumberland County. The eastbound lanes closed earlier today due to a number of vehicle crashes.

I-80 Westbound between the Milton/212B interchange in Northumberland County and the Lock Haven/178 interchange in Clinton County opened around 7:30 this evening. The roadway as closed earlier today due to a number of vehicle crashes. 

All detours have been lifted.

 

CLEARFIELD – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation advises drivers that sections of Interstate 80 westbound in Northumberland and Clinton counties are now open.

I-80 Westbound between the Milton/212B interchange in Northumberland County and the Lock Haven/178 interchange in Clinton County is now open. The roadway as closed earlier today due to a number of vehicle crashes.

I-80 Eastbound remains closed between the Lock Haven/178 interchange in Clinton County and the Milton/212B interchange in Northumberland County. The eastbound lanes closed earlier today due to a number of vehicle crashes. Eastbound drivers are to follow the Blue detour. PennDOT expects the eastbound lanes to re-open by 9 p.m.

PennDOT advises drivers to be prepared for stopped or slowed traffic, along with lengthy travel delays. Message boards are alerting drivers to the eastbound closure. I-80 motorists can also access up-to-date closure and detour information on the Highway Advisory Radio System (HARS) at 1640 on the AM dial.
