Central Mountain Tennis Falls to Jersey Shore in Rivalry Match
MILL HALL-Central Mountain girls tennis hosted Jersey Shore in a rivalry match today but came up short, falling 5-0 to a strong Jersey Shore squad. Despite the loss, the Wildcats put up a spirited fight on their home courts.
In singles play, Jersey Shore’s Peton Dincher led the way with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 win over Central Mountain’s Ellie Harry at the No. 1 spot. Josie Gerst and Addison Koch followed suit for Jersey Shore, each posting identical 6-0, 6-0 victories over Archie Walker and Molly Dubbs, respectively.
The doubles matches saw a bit more resistance from the Wildcats. Jersey Shore’s No. 1 duo of Jaymison Stellfox and Julia Herman secured a 6-1, 6-1 win over Central Mountain’s Emily Brinker and Audra Eaton, while Ava Lanks and Kendall Bubb wrapped up the contest with a hard-fought 6-0, 6-4 win over Kassie Williams and Tess Akeley at No. 2 doubles.
The Wildcats will look to bounce back in their next match as they continue to improve throughout the season.
