Central Mountain Golf Team Prevails in Thrilling Playoff Against Jersey Shore
MILL HALL-The Central Mountain golf team faced one of their toughest challenges of the season when PHAC rival Jersey Shore visited Clinton Country Club for a highly anticipated match. Both teams entered the contest with high expectations, as they were co-champions in the PHAC last year.
The match lived up to the hype, with co-medalists Zach St Clair of Central Mountain and Carter Girton of Jersey Shore each shooting an impressive 38 on the front nine. At the end of regulation, both teams posted identical scores of 168, resulting in a tie and forcing a playoff hole to determine the winner.
In the playoff, five players from each school played one more hole, and the team with the best four scores would claim the victory. Central Mountain’s golfers rose to the occasion, securing the win with three pars and a birdie, giving them the edge over Jersey Shore in this closely contested match.
