LHU Volleyball competes on final day of Cedarville Invitational

CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Lock Haven volleyball team finished the first weekend of the 2024 season at the Cedarville Invitational on the campus of Cedarville University on Saturday afternoon (Sept. 7). The Bald Eagles fell to Saginaw Valley 3-1 (23-25, 16-25, 25-22, 18-25).

The Bald Eagles narrowly dropped the first set, 25-23. After falling in the second set, The Haven rallied with an impressive comeback in the third set, 25-22, with 13 kills. The Cardinals, however, were able to finish the match off after putting the final set away 25-18.

Kelly Gaston racked up 30 assists and another seven digs.

Evie Jane Rembold finished with 12 of the Bald Eagles 38 kills and two blocks on the day.

Reagan Irons led the team in digs with ten, while Emma Kelly and Natalie Acevedo both had nine.

Lock Haven moves to 1-2 on the season and Saginaw improves to 2-1.

The Bald Eagles head back on the road to the Crimson Hawk Classic on Friday and Saturday (Sept. 13 and 14) to face off against Ashland, West Virginia State, Adelphi, and IUP at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP).
