Bucktail Edged by Montgomery in Thrilling 3-Hour Match

FARWELL-The Bucktail Lady Bucks tennis team fought hard but ultimately came up short in a narrow 2-3 loss to Montgomery in a thrilling match that lasted over three hours. The Lady Bucks displayed grit throughout the contest, with standout performances from Eva Sockman and Kendall Wagner.

Sockman continued her strong play at #1 Singles, defeating Cali Barnes 6-2, 7-6. Wagner, in what turned out to be the match of the day, staged an impressive comeback after dropping the first set. Down 5-2 in the second set, she battled back to win 7-5 and carried that momentum into the third set, winning 6-4 to secure a win.

Despite her efforts, McKenna Bissman put up a strong fight but fell 6-4, 6-3 at #3 Singles. At doubles, Lola English and Matti Mason took their match to three sets, losing a hard-fought tiebreaker in the third set 7-6. Riley Salizzoni and Carrie Ditty also played well but were defeated 6-4, 6-3.

Coach Heiser  praised the team’s determination, noting, “These girls continue to show fight. Even when they are down, they stay focused and keep playing hard. This is all we can ask for as coaches.”
