Young Wildcats show improvements in loss at Bloomsburg
BLOOMSBURG- Central Mountain’s football growing pains continued on Friday night at Bloomsburg. The Wildcats would continue to improve in small margins, despite being handed a 41-7 loss to the Panthers in a PHAC cross divisional meeting.
Bloomsburg quarterback Wyatt Brosious was on target all night long for the solid District IV 2A program, as the Panthers proved why they always play above their classification size.
Brosiuos would toss a pair of first half touchdowns and Bloomsburg running back Jharee Moore-Stewart would find the end zone twice to help the home squad build a 27-0 lead at the break.
Moore-Stewart would run in from 5 yards out and catch a 61-yard touchdown from Brosiuos in the first half alone. Moore-Stewart was far from done.
Moore-Stewart’s 27-yard pick six would expand the Panthers’ lead to 34-0 and a 1-yard Zane Thomas touchdown run would propel the game into the mercy rule.
Brosiuos would finish the game with 271 yards and four touchdowns.
Central Mountain would mount an impressive effort in the fourth quarter behind the play of quarterback Hunter Hoy. Hoy would find Jase Seltzer on a 24-yard touchdown strike and Mycah Carson (PAT would set the final at 41-7.
Hoy finished the night with 33 yards rushing and 39 yards through the air. The Wildcats did grind out 137 yards on the ground, led by Cooper Bottorf 50 yards on 4 carries and Dalton Mcdermott 41 yards on 12 carries.
Central Mountain dropped to 0-2 on the season, while Bloomsburg improved to 1-1. The Wildcats will now begin their PHAC Division I schedule this Friday at home when they face undefeated Williamsport.
