Lady Bucks cruise past CV in home opener 5-0

FARWELL- Bucktail quickly dispatched visiting Cowanesque Valley by a count of 5-0 on Thursday afternoon. It was the Lady Bucks home opener and they treated the home crowd to a dominating win over the Lady Indians.

Bucktail’s doubles teams set the stage by sweeping CV. Lola English and Matti Mason would overpower the Cowanesque duo of Makenna Burdick and Lexi Fuhrer 6-1, 6-2. It was English and Mason’s debut as a team.

Carrie Ditty and Riley Salizzoni would pick up a Bucktail victory by way of forfeit, in a match that was knotted at 3-3 when it was called.

For the second straight afternoon, the Lady Bucks singles would go 3-0. Eva Sockman’s 6-0, 6-2 win over Chelsea Wattles started the Cherry & White off on the right track. Kendall Wagner would keep things going for Bucktail with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Danika Gardner. McKenna Bissman upped her season mark to 2-0 following a win over Cowanesque’s Jewel Smith 6-1, 6-2.

Now 2-0, Bucktail will next be in action on Tuesday when they travel to Mid Penn Conference rivals Muncy for a 4pm start time.
