Central Mountain Falls to Mifflin County

MILL HALL- Positive yardage was a tough thing to find for a young Central Mountain team on Friday evening at home. The Wildcats would scrape together just a meager total of 15 yards in the first half of play and give up three turnovers, as the visiting Huskies of Mifflin County built a solid 28-0 lead at the break. Mifflin County would use the dominant first half to cruise to a 42-6 road win.

Mifflin County started their scoring off on a pick six when backup CM signal caller Khye Kissel would be picked off by the Huskies’ Green. Green would race 38 yards for the game’s first score.

Up 7-0, senior Mifflin County quarterback Fletcher Wilson would go to work on the Wildcats’ secondary and Reed open from 30 yards out for the second score in the beginning of the second quarter. A Central Mountain fumble on a punt return would lead to a 21-0 Mifflin County lead following another Fletcher touchdown strike to Haigh from 25 yards out.

Green would score his second touchdown of the night. This time around his score would be on the offensive side of things on a 17-yard catch to bring the score to 28-0 at the break.

Central Mountain’s offense would finally get in a groove behind Kole Corman. His 83-yard run would lead to a 5-yard touchdown score from Dalton McDermot to give CM their first touchdown of the season. The PAT was no good, but the Wildcats would see Corman rush 13 times for 117 yards on the night. Dalton McDermot would tally up 30 yards on 7 totes, including the touchdown.

Mifflin County’s Fletcher Wilson would piece together another drive with a 3-yard score to Rishel. Huskies backup quarterback Chase Hertung would also get into the scoring act when he found Haigh open from 71 yards on a long scoring strike, which sent the game into the mercy rule at 42-6.

Central Mountain (0-1) will continue to build on the season when they travel to 2A Bloomsburg on Friday night.
