PSP Lamar News Release:

Theft From Person

BEECH CREEK– Sometime between July 28 and August 2, 2024, a 50-foot garden hose was stolen from a resident on Oak Lane in Beech Creek. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact PSP Lamar by calling 570-726-6000, as this investigation is ongoing.

Criminal Mischief

PORTER TOWNSHIP—A 2005 Dodge Ram’s rear window was damaged in the area of Maple Street between July 31 and August 1, 2024. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Trooper Killion at PSP Lamar by calling 570-726-6000.

Harassment

LOGAN TOWNSHIP—According to PSP Lamar, an incident involving harassment with physical contact occurred on July 31, 2024, at 6:55 p.m., on Summer Mountain Road. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Harassment w/Physical Contact

AVIS– On July 28, 2024, PSP Lamar responded to West Ridge Street for a report of harassment involving Justin Renzo, 37, from Jersey Shore, and a 33-year-old female victim. Disorderly Conduct, Trespassing, and Harassment charges were prepared and filed for Renzo through District Court 25-3-01.

Motor Vehicle Accident/Traffic Violations

BEECH CREEK– On July 27, 2024, at 3:38 p.m., PSP Lamar was sent to 600 Monument Orviston Road for a report of a single-vehicle crash with an unresponsive driver. Following further investigation, it was discovered that a second vehicle had been involved in the crash. Both vehicles collided with their driver’s side mirrors while negotiating a curve on the road. The mirror from one of the involved vehicles came through the open window of the other vehicle, striking a victim in the head and causing him to crash into a wooded area. According to PSP Lamar’s report, the victim sustained a suspected serious bodily injury. One of the involved vehicles, believed to be a Ford 150 or 250 with tow mirrors, fled the scene of the crash. Anyone with information about this accident is asked to contact PSP Lamar at 570-726-6000 and ask to speak with Trooper Fusco.

Harassment

BEECH CREEK—On July 27, 2024, PSP Lamar responded to Eagle Valley Road for an active domestic disturbance involving a 46-year-old male from Beech Creek and a 41-year-old female from Lock Haven. According to the report, a physical altercation had occurred, and charges were filed through District Court 25-3-02.

DUI

LOCK HAVEN– On July 27, 2024, at approximately 2:18 a.m., PSP Lamar initiated a traffic stop to Andres Leiva Hernandez, 47, Lock Haven, on Fifth Street for traffic violations. Upon investigation, it was determined that the operator was under the influence of alcoholic beverages. Chemical testing was consented to, and criminal charges are pending toxicology.

DUI

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP—On July 26, 2024, at 8:00 a.m., PSP Lamar initiated a traffic stop on Draketown Road for multiple traffic violations. Upon investigation, it was determined that Michael Thomas, 50, Mill Hall, was under the influence of a controlled substance. A search of the vehicle was conducted after it was consented to, and methamphetamine was found. Criminal charges will be filed through District Court 25-3-02.

Retail Theft/Shoplifting

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP– Megan Kinealy, 45, Lock Haven, was caught underringing grocery items totaling $42.45 at Walmart in Mill Hall on July 26, 2024. Charges were prepared and issued through District Court 25-3-02.

Disorderly Conduct

PORTER TOWNSHIP– PSP responded to Nittany Valley Drive on July 24, 2024, at 8:45 p.m., for a report of disorderly conduct involving a 25-year-old male from Ashland, KY. This investigation continues.

Criminal Trespass

RENOVO– On July 24, 2024, at 8:52 a.m., an incident involving trespassing on 3rd Street was reported and investigated by PSP Lamar. The investigation is ongoing.

Theft of Services

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP—PSP investigated an incident involving theft of services at Goodwill in Mill Hall that occurred between July 19 and July 23, 2024. An unknown suspect dumped garbage into a private dumpster that they did not have permission to use. This investigation is ongoing.

Disorderly Conduct

RENOVO– On July 23, 2024, at 12:14 p.m., PSP Troopers were called for a disturbance at Puff-N-Snuff. It was reported that Alan Jones, 42, from Renovo, was in the store yelling and causing a scene. After investigation, Jones was cited with disorderly conduct through District Court 25-3-03.

PFA Violation

SOUTH RENOVO– PSP Lamar is investigating a PFA violation that occurred on July 21, 2024, on Clinton Avenue. The investigation is ongoing.

Motor Vehicle Accident

GALLAGHER TOWNSHIP– A crash occurred on July 22, 2024, on Carrier Road just north of Robins Run Trail when Austin Levelle, 21, from Farrandsville, attempted to negotiate a turn while traveling at an unreasonable rate of speed, according to the report issued by PSP. After making the turn, Levelle lost control of the vehicle and crashed head-on into a tree. Levelle and two passengers in the vehicle sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash.

DUI/Hit and Run

BEECH CREEK– On July 19, 2024, at approximately 7:37 p.m., a three-vehicle crash occurred on Eagle Valey Road. Joseph Martz, 45, from Beech Creek, was traveling at approximately 45 mph when he drove off of the roadway and continued through a grassy area, striking a bush and multiple mailboxes. Martz proceeded through the mailboxes and struck a parked Grand Caravan on Grahams Lane, pushing it into a trailer porch before driving even further and striking another parked vehicle. Martz then continued into a ditch, running over a sewer pipe where his vehicle almost got stuck. After successfully exiting the ditch, Martz drove directly into the back end of a parked Subaru Impreza before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

DUI

LAMAR TOWNSHIP– On June 19, 2024, at 10:45 p.m., a traffic stop was conducted in the 100 block of Long Run Road. Investigation revealed that the driver, Robert Kling, 48, from Mill Hall, was under the influence of alcohol. Appropriate charges will be filed through District Court 25-3-02.

Theft

CASTANEA—PSP Lamar responded to a report of theft from Rylind Construction Company that occurred sometime between July 18 and July 22, 2024. An unknown actor(s) entered a locked Connex storage unit box through unknown means, and once inside, the actor(s) stole various construction tools. This investigation is ongoing.

Theft by Deception/Impersonation

BEECH CREEK– On July 7, 2024, PSP investigated a reported theft by deception. A 74-year-old female victim sent $1,400.00 in cash through the mail to an unknown actor who falsely portrayed themselves to her through online communication. The mailed cash was intercepted before delivery by the U.S. Postal Inspector’s office and returned to the victim. The details surrounding the investigation were shared with the F.B.I. to try and identify the suspect.

DUI

LOCK HAVEN– On June 25, 2024, PSP Lamar stopped William Goodman, 42, from Lock Haven at the intersection of South Jones Street and Bellefonte Avenue while he was on a bicycle and appeared to be intoxicated. Further investigation revealed that Goodman was under the influence of alcohol, and appropriate charges were filed through District Court 25-3-01.

PFA Violation

BEECH CREEK– On May 31, 2024, PSP Lamar investigated a reported PFA violation on Bittner Lane. No further information about the incident was provided in the report.

Retail Theft/Shoplifting

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP—On May 18, 2024, a 21-year-old male from Lock Haven was observed by loss prevention while he was under-ringing items at the self-checkout registers at Walmart in Mill Hall. Walmart’s loss prevention team attempted to stop him, and when he was told that police had been contacted, he walked out of the store. Charges were filed against the male actor for retail theft through District Court 25-3-02.

Suicide Attempt

DUNNSTABLE TOWNSHIP– PSP Lamar received a report of a 21-year-old male who took prescription pills and was found lying in a barn convulsing on May 5, 2024, on Island Road. No further information was included in the report.
