Keystone Dominates with 7-4 Victory Over New Jersey in East Regional 50/70 Intermediate Tournament
DOVER, DE – Keystone dominated with a 7-4 victory over New Jersey(South Vineland Little League) on Monday at the East Regional 50/70 Intermediate Tournament, representing Pennsylvania.
Keystone got on the board in the first inning. Evan Edwards singled, then stole second. He advanced to third on a ground ball from Hayden Hanley and scored on a ground out by Camden Fuller.
Both teams were held scoreless in the second, third, fourth, and fifth innings. Keystone broke the game open in the sixth inning, scoring six insurance runs. New Jersey tried to rally in the bottom of the seventh, scoring four runs, but it wasn’t enough. The final score was Keystone (PA) 7, New Jersey 4.
Keystone tallied 7 runs on 12 hits. Evan Edwards had a standout day, going 3-3. Hayden Hanley, Camden Fuller, and Trey Lapp each contributed two hits. Evan Batterson, Logan Bower, and Carter Frank also added hits.
Edwards pitched a solid complete game, going 6.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on five hits, walking three, and striking out an impressive 13 batters.
With this win, Keystone will continue advancing through the bracket and will be back in action tomorrow, Tuesday, at 9 a.m.
