Council Rock Newtown end Keystone 9-11s run, 9-7

ATHENS- Keystone’s 9-11 squad would see there stellar season come to an end Saturday afternoon in Athens against Council Rock Newtown. Keystone would outhit CR Newtown 10 to 8, but 4 costly errors would result in runs for Council Rock, leading to a 9-7 victory to eliminate Keystone from the state tournament. Keystone finishes the season third in the State.
Council Rock scored all 9 of their runs in a span of two innings, beginning with a five-run first inning. That inning was followed by a four-run Council Rock bottom of the second inning to build a 9-0 lead.
Keystone battled back strong.
Keystone plated two runs in the top of the third inning and their five-run fifth inning put them within striking distance, but Council Rock held on to pick up the victory.
Jordan Germello and Karter Markle led the Keystone bats with two hits each. Germello connected on a double. Adam Meyer and Hunter Kisko also had doubles. Rounding out the hits for Keystone with single was Carter Leone, Stafford Ley, Rylin Bathurst and Giovanni Cej.
