Troopers of the PA State Police Lamar Barracks conducted a sobriety checkpoint during the Fourth of July holiday weekend in Clinton County. At the DUI checkpoint, there were:
112 motorists coming through
2 DUI arrests
Several citations issued

Harassment w/Physical Contact

AVIS– On July 10, 2024, PSP Lamar responded to a physical altercation at 220 Clinton Street in Avis. Dakota Clarke, 37, M, from Jersey Shore, was cited for multiple offenses involving assault to a 36-year-old female victim and a minor victim.

Drug Possession

PORTER TOWNSHIP—On July 9, 2024, at 2:10 a.m., PSP Lamar Troopers stopped a 2010 Nissan Altima on I-80 West after observing traffic violations. According to the report, indicators of criminal activity were observed, and the vehicle was searched. The search yielded suspected controlled substances. This investigation is ongoing.

Harassment w/Physical Contact

LOGAN TOWNSHIP– On July 9, 2024, PSP Lamar responded to Tylersville Heights for a report of a domestic altercation. Through investigation, it was determined that a 46-year-old female from Loganton slapped a 48-year-old male from Loganton on the left side of his face with an open hand. Charges were filed through District Court 25-3-02 as a result of the incident.

Theft/Disposition of Funds

FLEMINGTON—On July 8, 2024, at 3:17 p.m., PSP Lamar responded to a residence on Huston Street for a report of fraud. Through investigation, it was determined that an unknown actor had contacted two 71-year-old victims of the residence via phone, claiming to be from their bank. The victims provided personal information, which enabled the actor to withdraw $16,370.78 from their bank account. This investigation is ongoing.

Motor Vehicle Accident

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP– On July 8, 2024, a crash occurred at the intersection of Mill Hall Road and Hogan Boulevard when Joseph Thomas, 64, from Flemington, was attempting to turn left onto Hogan Boulevard and struck the front of a vehicle driven by Heidi McNatt, 57, from Farrandsville. Following the initial impact, both vehicles came to a final rest facing west on Hogan Boulevard. No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

PFA Violation

WOODWARD TOWNSHIP—On July 6, 2024, a 63-year-old male violated a Protection From Abuse Order on West Hillside Drive, according to the police report. Charges are pending as a result of the violation.

DUI Checkpoint

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP—On July 6, 2024, PSP Lamar conducted a regulatory checkpoint on Eagle Valley Road. Dennis Caprio, 50, from Mill Hall, was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance at the checkpoint. According to the report, charges are pending toxicology.

Motor Vehicle Accident

PORTER TOWNSHIP– On July 6, 2024, at 9:47 p.m., a crash occurred on I-80 East near mile marker 173.3. Katherin Zuma, 29, from Lincoln, NE, was traveling east in the left lane when she traveled off the roadway onto the north shoulder and struck the guide rail. The 2008 Chevrolet Malibu Zuma was driving sustained significant damage to the front of the vehicle, but no injuries were sustained as a result of the crash.

Motor Vehicle Accident

GRUGAN TOWNSHIP– On July 5, 2024, at approximately 4:24 a.m., a crash occurred near the 8400 block of the Renovo Road. Tiffani Zinn, 27, from Renovo, was traveling north on SR-120 when she traveled off the north side of the roadway. Zinn overcorrected when turning back onto the roadway and lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll several times before striking an embankment. Zinn was not wearing her seatbelt, but no injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

Dog Law Violation

GREENE TOWNSHIP– On July 5, 2024, PSP Lamar was notified of three dogs that were unconfined and on the roadway of East Valley Road. Through investigation, the dog owner, identified as a 22-year-old male from Loganton, was located, and charges were filed through District Court 25-3-02 for the confinement of dogs.

Theft of Items from Motor Vehicle

SOUTH RENOVO—On July 5, 2024, PSP Lamar Troopers responded to a residence on Pennsylvania Avenue for a report of vandalism that they believe had taken place between 2:00 a.m. and 3:19 a.m. This investigation is ongoing.

Death/Suicide

PORTER TOWNSHIP– PSP Lamar was dispatched to the Quality Inn located at 31 Hospitality Lane on July 4, 2024, for a report of an unresponsive 42-year-old male victim. No further information was included in the report, and this investigation is ongoing.

Harassment w/Physical Contact

RENOVO– A domestic incident occurred between a 66-year-old female from Renovo and a 65-year-old male from Renovo on July 3, 2024. According to the report, the incident took place at a residence on 10th Street, and charges are pending. No further information was provided in the report.

Criminal Mischief

AVIS– On July 2, 2024, PSP Lamar responded to 107 Prospect Avenue in Avis for a report of a damaged vehicle. The rear passenger window of a 2014 Jeep Liberty had been broken sometime between 9 p.m. on July 1 and 6:00 a.m. on July 2. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact PSP Lamar by calling (570) 726-6000.

Hit and Run

PORTER TOWNSHIP– A crash occurred on July 2, 2024, when an unidentified driver was pulling into the parking lot at the Travel Centers of America located at 5600 Nittany Valley Drive. The driver struck the canopy of the building while pulling into a non-parking stall. According to the report, the driver left the scene without providing insurance information, and no injuries were sustained. This incident is still under investigation.

Motor Vehicle Accident

LOGANTON– On July 1, 2024, at 4:53 p.m., a one-vehicle crash occurred when an unnamed 17-year-old male driver from Loganton was traveling east on West Main Street at approximately 35 mph. The driver left the roadway, striking mailboxes and a utility pole on the side of the roadway. The driver admitted to falling asleep while in control of the vehicle, which caused the crash. One traffic citation was filed with District Court 25-3-02 as a result of the crash, and no injuries were reported.

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP– PSP Lamar responded to Eagle Valley Road on June 28, 2024, for a domestic incident. It was determined that the arrestee, identified as a 41-year-old male from Mill Hall, pushed a 39-year-old victim during an argument. The actor was cited for harassment through District Court 29-3-02.

DUI Crash

RENOVO– On June 23, 2024, at 12:40 a.m., PSP Lamar Troopers were dispatched to Huron Avenue for an unresponsive female in a car. Prior to the Troopers’ arrival, the female, identified as Samantha Monroe, 37, from Coudersport, had struck an emergency response vehicle with her vehicle before leaving the scene, according to the report. Monroe was located a short distance from the scene and taken to the Clinton County Correctional Facility. Appropriate charges were filed.

FLEMINGTON– PSP Lamar is currently investigating a report of child abuse to a 10-year-old male from Lock Haven that occurred on Furst Street on May 28, 2024. No further information was provided in the report.

Firearm Sale or Transfer

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP—PSP Lamar is investigating an individual who attempted to purchase a firearm while they are unable to do so at an unnamed location on Hogan Boulevard. This incident stems from November 29, 2023.
