Big final inning lifts Tri-Town past Keystone 12s

BEECH CREEK- Keystone 10-12’s trip to the District 12 championship took a detour on Wednesday evening at Beech Creek.
Tri-Town would hit the road and upend Keystone in the 10-12 winner’s bracket final. Tri-Town’s monster sixth inning would be enough to send them to the finals. Tri-Town would enter the top of the sixth in a 2-2 deadlock with Keystone, but a big 6-run inning would secure the victory. Keystone failed to score in their half of the sixth inning.
Tri-Town built a 2-0 lead following a 2-run top of the third inning, but Keystone mounted a rally in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Blaine W. Kunes Memorial Field would come to life following runs from Lincoln Prough and Austin Dupert. Dupert would drive in Prough on an RBI single and would later score to tie things up at 2-2.
Keystone managed just two hits during the contest. Colt Hill’s double and Dupert’s fourth inning single would account for Keystone’s offense. Keystone also forced 5 errors in the losing effort.
Tri-Town connected on 6 hits and played flawless in the field with no miscues.
Keystone will now meet WALL on Friday in South Williamsport. A victory in that contest would send Keystone to the District 12 title game in a rematch with Tri-Town. Keystone would then need to defeat the undefeated Tri-Town squad twice to claim the district title.
