Keystone 8-10’s Dominant Victory Secures Spot in District 12 Championship
LONG RUN-In a winner’s bracket final at Long Run Little League, the Keystone 8-10’s secured their place in the District 12 championship with a solid 19-4 victory over the WALL District team.
Keystone’s bats ignited from the outset, setting an aggressive tone with a colossal 13-run first inning, leaving WALL trailing from the get-go. Callen Bechdel’s stellar performance, going 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Hunter Packer kept the momentum going, driving in 2 runs with his 2 hits and scoring twice.
Jaxon Orndorf and Mason Quick made significant contributions, both securing extra-base hits that maintained pressure on WALL’s pitchers. Quick, alongside Bentley Leone, hit doubles, while Packer’s triple contributed to Keystone’s total of 11 RBIs. Aggressive base running was another highlight, with Cael Day stealing four bases and Bechdel adding three more to his tally.
On the mound, Deagen Stover clinched the win with 1.2 innings of pitching, allowing just 1 hit and 2 runs while striking out four. Cael Day closed the game with a scoreless inning, racking up three strikeouts. Hunter Packer set the initial tone, despite a challenging first inning.
WALL faced difficulties against Keystone’s dominance. Ethan S. led WALL’s offense, going 1-for-1 with an RBI and a run scored. Ryder T. also contributed with a hit and an RBI, but the team’s seven errors hindered their comeback efforts.
With this commanding win, the Keystone 8-10’s have secured their ticket to the District 12 championship at Volunteer Stadium on Monday, July 8th.
