Timmy Bittner Parks It in Victory Lane at Clinton County Speedway
MILL HALL – Recent High School graduate Timmy Bittner of Beech Creek led every lap of the RaceSaver Sprint feature event to claim his first victory of the season at the one-third mile oval. Nathan Bacon secured his second win of the season the 270 Micro Sprints. AJ Hoffman won his first Pro Stock feature of the year, while Jason Koch earned his first career 4 Cylinder feature event.
Timmy Bitter and Dakota Schweikart led the field of to the green flag for the start of the 25-lap RaceSaver Sprint car feature. Bittner led the first two laps, before the first caution flag waved when Johnny Smith’s car had a mechanical issue and stopped in turn number two. On lap number three the red flag came out when Jeremy Hill and Wes Mathews got together causing both cars to tip onto their sides. Both cars were able to restart.
By lap number ten, Bittner was leading Dakota Schweikart, Matt Tebbs, Dale Schweikart, and Johnny Scarborough. A lap later, Dale Schweikart passed Tebbs for third and Mikey Smith passed Scarborough to enter the top five.
Bittner encountered lapped traffic on lap number 17, as the Schweikarts battled for second and third. Bittner continued to navigate through lapped traffic, with Dakota Schweikart holding off his father, Dale Schweikart. Mikey Smith was closing in and Matt Tebbs in the top five. At the finish, Bittner won by 1.579 seconds over the Schweikarts, Smith and Tebbs. Sixth through tenth were John Scarborough, Austin Reed, Mike Koehler, Josh Beamer and Austin Greenland. Heat races for the twenty-five cars were won by Bittner, Tebbs, and Mikey Smith
Bobby Sanso and Corey Stabley started on the front row of the 270 Micro Sprint feature event. Nathan Bacon led the opening lap, but was called for a jump on the initial start and was put back to third during the caution on lap number two. Jillian Maurer held the lead for one lap before Bacon powered his way back to the front of the field. Keaton Hines raced his way from the sixth starting spot to move into second with Jillian Maurer, Sanso and Zach Glass running in the top five. The caution came out on lap number nine, when Bobby Sanso’s car stopped on the track. With five laps to go Bacon continued to lead Hines, as the duo would hold onto the top two spots for the remainder of the event. Maurer was third, Glass was fourth and Tom Quiggle completed the top five. Sixth through tenth were Chase Roberts, Carter Hines, Paris Hewes, Tyler Groft and Matt Dixson. Heat races were won by Glass, Hines, and Devin Dunmire
In Pro Stock competition, AJ Stroup and Noah Kissinger led the field to the green flag. Stroup took the lead from the drop of the green flag, with AY Schilling quickly moving into second. By lap number five, Stoup was leading Schilling, Cory Long, Kissinger and AJ Hoffman. Hoffman continued his charge toward the front and took the runner up position by lap number seven. One lap later, he passed Stroup for the lead. By lap number ten, Hoffman was leading Stoup, Long, Schilling and Rich Fye. Hoffman led the final laps to earn his first of the season over Stroup, Long, Schilling and Marc Bitler. Sixth through tenth were Noah Kissinger, Rich Fye, Michael Barrett, Larry Knight and Jim Farley. Heat races were won by Hoffman and Stroup.
Jason Koch and Kyler Stahl were on the front row of the 4 cylinder feature event. Stahl quickly took the lead with fourth place starter, Zak Kline moving into second. Stahl and Kline continued to battle for the lead with Koch, Garrett Lucas, and Matt Weaver running int the top five. On lap number 12, Stahl and Kline traded paint, with Kline passing Stahl coming out of turn number four. Stahl then got into Kline coming out of turn two turning Kline sideways. Kline saved the car but lost several positions in the process. Stahl continued to lead the rest of the event, however, track officials declared his maneuver aggressive and issued a penalty to last car on the lead lap. Jason Koch was declared the winner over Coty Maines, Zak Kline, Kevin Trimpey, and Hunter Flook. Sixth through tenth were Dalton Lucas, Kyler Stahl, Garrett Lucas, Matt Weaver, and Alyssa Snook. Heat races were won by Koch and Flook.
