Keystone 8-10s Triumph in a Thrilling 13-12 Victory Over Montgomery All Stars

LONG RUN– In a high-scoring showdown at Long Run Ball Field, the Keystone 8-10 team emerged victorious with a nail-biting 13-12 win against the Montgomery 8-10 All Stars on Tuesday night. The young athletes of Keystone showcased remarkable talent, rallying from behind to secure the win.

Keystone led by standout performances, collected a total of 19 hits compared to Montgomery’s five.

Montgomery All Stars took an early lead in the first inning when Jaxon O. induced Joseph S. to hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring one run. Keystone responded in the second inning with Westin Heeman, Logan Hanley, and Hudson Foltz each driving in a run to take the lead.

The fourth inning saw Montgomery flip the game on its head, scoring seven runs on one hit, aided by multiple errors, to take an 8-3 lead.

Keystone’s resilience shone brightly in the sixth inning. Mason Quick tripled, scoring two runs, followed by a series of hits from Aldin Demarte, Logan Hanley, Easton Wright, and Jaxon Orndorf, contributing to a nine-run inning. This surge put Keystone back in contention, tying the game at 12-12 by the top of the seventh.

In the decisive final inning, an error by Montgomery allowed the go-ahead run to score, giving Keystone the lead.

Deagen Stover earned the win for Keystone, pitching two and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out three. Willie O. took the loss for Montgomery, surrendering six runs (five earned) on seven hits over two innings.

Jaxon Orndorf started the game for Keystone, pitching two innings without allowing a hit and striking out one. Joseph S. began for Montgomery, giving up 12 hits and seven runs over five innings.

Jaxon Orndorf went 1-for-3 with 3 RBIs, and Hudson Foltz led with a perfect 3-for-3 performance. Logan Hanley collected two hits, while Westin Heeman, Easton Wright, Cael Day, and Aldin Demarte also contributed multiple hits each.

Keystone’s victory marks a memorable comeback and moves them up in the bracket to a game against Loyalsock on Thursday 06/27.
