Mill Hall Bridge Detour Starts Tuesday

Bridge to Closeure Redies Replacement Work

pdot2MILL HALL – The Mill Hall Bridge on Route 2016 (Main Street) will be closed as of Tuesday, March 24 as replacement work continues.

Once the bridge is closed, a detour will be in place. The detour will direct drivers to use Route 64, Route 150 (Eagle Valley Road), Pennsylvania Avenue, and Main Street in Mill Hall. Pedestrians will continue to use the current bridge.

A PennDOT release said the existing bridge over Fishing Creek is structurally deficient. It will be replaced with a two-span concrete spread box beam bridge. Built in 1933, the current bridge is 114 feet long and carries an average of almost 1,300 vehicles each day.

The detour will be in place throughout the project, which is scheduled to last through October. PennDOT will open the new bridge earlier if work progress allows.
Clearwater Construction, Inc. of Mercer, PA is the contractor for this $2.2 million project. Work includes construction of a new bridge, water line relocation, sidewalk, drainage, and guide rail improvements, and roadway paving. All work is weather dependent. The replacement was made possible by funding from Act 89.
