Retail Theft/Shoplifting

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP—On April 21, 2024, a known female was observed under-ringing items totaling $30.18 at the self-checkout lane at Walmart in Mill Hall. Walmart employees contacted PA State Police to arrest the female for retail theft.

Motor Vehicle Accident

PORTER TOWNSHIP – A crash occurred as Alberto Rubio, 19, from Shenandoah, PA, was traveling south on Nittany Valley Drive on April 20, 2024. Rubio traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a utility pole, and following initial impact continued in a southern direction of travel before coming to a final rest off the shoulder. Rubio was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was not injured.

Hit and Run

EAST KEATING TOWNSHIP – A crash occurred on SR-120 West in East Keating Township on April 20, 2024. The driver, Casey Woods, 37, from Lock Haven, failed to negotiate a right curve in the roadway safely and traveled off the side of the road before striking an embankment. Following the initial impact, Woods’ Ford Escape rotated clockwise and came to a final rest on the double yellow center lines facing south. Woods fled the scene of the accident, according to the police report.

Theft of Lost/Mislaid Property

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP—On April 20, 2024, at 1:30 a.m., an unknown actor stole a disabled placard from the Lowe’s parking lot at 284 Hogan Boulevard that was reportedly lost. No further information was provided in the police report.

DUI/Motor Vehicle Accident

GREENE TOWNSHIP—On April 19, 2024, Phillip Swarey, 35, from Middleburg, PA, was traveling on East Valley Road in Greene Township. Swarey counter-steered, causing the 2005 Peterbilt 379 he was driving to overturn. The vehicle then struck a utility pole before coming to a final rest. Swarey was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and was not injured. According to the police report, Swarey was determined to be under the influence of alcoholic beverages.

Theft of Motor Vehicle

PINE CREEK TOWNSHIP – On April 18, 2024, at 11:51 a.m., PSP Lamar responded to 1054 E. Cardinal Drive for a domestic situation still in progress. Upon arrival, Troopers learned that the victim, a 61-year-old female from Lock Haven, allowed Alan Jones, 42, from Renovo, to stay the night after a short stay at UPMC Lock Haven for a mental health evaluation. A verbal altercation ensued between the victim and Jones, and Jones told the victim he didn’t think she was real and that he was going to kill her and burn the house down.
While Troopers continued to interview the victim, she realized that her vehicle was stolen and that Jones was no longer at the residence. The victim reported that Jones does not live with her, has never driven her vehicle, and did not have permission to do so. While Troopers were on the scene, Jones was observed driving the vehicle back to the scene and stopped in front of the residence on the street. Jones was asked multiple times to exit the vehicle before yelling an obscenity at the Troopers and continuing to drive up E. Cardinal Drive. A perimeter was set up, and Jones was stopped shortly after on W. Cardinal Drive at its intersection with Oriole Circle. Jones was taken into custody without further incident, and the vehicle was returned to the victim. Jones was transported to Clinton County Prison and was charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking – Movable Property/Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicles, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct, and Harassment.

Retail Theft/Shoplifting

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – PSP Lamar responded to Walmart in Mill Hall on April 17, 2024, for a report of retail theft. Upon investigation, it was determined that Stevie Miller, 31, Beech Creek, left the store without scanning two items totaling $124.28. Charges were filed through District Court 25-3-02.

Harassment w/Physical Contact

COLEBROOK TOWNSHIP – On April 16, 2024, at 8:00 a.m., it was reported to PSP Lamar that an altercation had taken place between a father and daughter. Troopers investigated a Children and Youth Services referral for this incident, and through their investigation, it was determined that the incident had not occurred.

Motor Vehicle Accident

LOGAN TOWNSHIP – On March 7, 2024, a crash occurred on Narrows Road, west of McCaleb Road in Logan Township. The crash occurred as the driver, unidentified, lost control of her vehicle, exited her travel lane, and struck a utility pole on the north side of the roadway. After impact, the vehicle came to a final rest facing west. The impact caused disabling damage to the passenger side of the vehicle. The driver was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash, and no injuries were reported.

LOCK HAVEN POLICE DEPARTMENT NEWS RELEASE – APRIL 23, 2024

Incidents:
Crash — On April 14, 2024, at 2:30 p.m., a one-vehicle crash occurred near the intersection of W. Bald Eagle Street and S. Summit Street. The vehicle went off the roadway, striking a street sign and a utility pole. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

Criminal Mischief — On April 19, 2024, between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., a marker was used to write on the door to a residence in the 10 block of Williamson Heights.

Offenses Charged:

Travis Klinger, 37, Williamsport, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Paraphernalia. On December 15, 2023, Klinger was taken into custody for a separate incident that occurred at 360 E. Walnut Street. When he was searched, he was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and a baggy containing methamphetamine.

Julie Myers, 50, Jersey Shore, was arrested for DUI. On March 23, 2024, at approximately 11:45 p.m., Myers was stopped for traffic violations on Paul Mack Boulevard and found to be under the influence of alcohol.

Ahsley Rentas, 28, Lock Haven, was cited with Harassment and Disorderly Conduct. On March 31, 2024, at approximately 10:00 p.m. While at UPMC Lock Haven Emergency Room, Rentas was screaming, grabbing at staff, and bit the arm of a victim, according to the police report.

Ashely Rentas, 28, Lock Haven, was arrested for Simple Assault. On April 1, 2024, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Rentas attempted to cut her caretaker with a metal knife and stabbed the victim with a metal fork at a residence located in the 300 block of E. Main Street.

Dillon Creasey, 25, Lock Haven, was arrested for Simple Assault. On April 9, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Creasey took the victim to the ground and bit the victim’s face, which required medical treatment. This occurred at a residence in the 200 block of Youngs Avenue.

Imani Plaza, 20, Lock Haven, was cited with the Purchase, Consumption, Possession, or Transportation of Liquor, malt, or Brewed Beverages. On April 20, 2024, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Plaza, being under 21 years of age, attempted to purchase Vodka from Fine Wine and Spirits at 120 E. Walnut Street.
