Renovo’s Newest Healing Hand: Probst Family Practice Set to Serve Community
By Autumn Gavlock
Get ready, Renovo! Local healthcare is on the verge of a transformation as a new private practice prepares to open its doors this June! With customized services and a dedication to community well-being, Probst Family Practice is said to open June 1, 2024.The official announcement was made early this week, on Tuesday April 2, 2024 that Dr. Dennis Probst DO will be opening his very own family practice right here in Renovo. Located at 924 Huron Ave. Renovo,(the former Family Practice of Renovo – Dr. Frank Conly), Probst Family Practice will bring essential healthcare services, community well-being, economic benefits, and contribute to the overall quality of life for Renovo residents.
Dr. Dennis Probst, with over 30 years of experience practicing medicine across various locations, is thrilled to begin serving his community by practicing medicine close to home. He will be joined by his wife, Kristin Probst, who will serve as Nurse/Office Manager.
Dr. Dennis Probst, wife Kristin and their three younger children, relocated to the Renovo area in 2022 after years of owning and maintaining their family farm in North Bend since 2017. The decision to relocate was driven by the excessive travel required to maintain the farm and their love for the area. Upon settling into their new home in North Bend, the Probst family quickly embraced small-town life by becoming actively involved in the community, participating in local fundraising groups, community outreach organizations, and more. It seemed only natural that after careful consideration, they would continue their efforts to invest in the Renovo area by opening their own practice.
The Record interviewed Dr. Dennis Probst to gain some insight on what we can expect from Probst Family Practice upon opening. During the interview, Dr. Probst said that . “Our approach to family medicine is very much old-fashioned. We treat everyone like we would a family member so our approach is more personal than the modern corporate world that medicine has become”
Having a family practice option in a small town such as Renovo is expected to improve healthcare accessibility for residents who may face transportation challenges or limited options for medical care. This proximity reduces obstacles to those seeking healthcare and encourages regular medical visits. Probst Family practice will be offering health care for people of all ages both outpatient and inpatient at Bucktail Hospital. In addition they will also offer DOT physicals and Osteopathic manipulative therapy for treatment of musculoskeletal injury and chronic pain. More information about expanded service offerings at Probst Family Practice will be released in the upcoming months.
Dr. Dennis Probst and his family extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has assisted them thus far in their journey, offering invaluable guidance and encouragement. They wish to offer special recognition to Dr. Frank Conly, formerly of Family Practice of Renovo, and his wife Lindy Conly, for their patience, direction, engagement and unwavering support. In an interview, Kristin Probst, wife of Dr. Dennis Probst, highlighted Dr. Conly’s availability, stating, “Dr. Conly has always made certain to say to us throughout this whole process that he is available 24/7 if we ever need him,” a presence deeply appreciated by the Probst family. They expressed their deepest appreciation to all who have warmly welcomed them into the community, eagerly anticipating the opportunity to contribute to the rich heritage of Renovo by building something truly special.
