‘Summer on their minds’ at Bald Eagle Township Supers meeting

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – It was pretty much “business as usual” at the Bald Eagle Township Supervisors meeting Monday evening.

High on the agenda were updates on the Wawa project still under development for the former Aungst and Creekside Restaurant location along route 150 in the township. As far as the project is currently concerned, a traffic study was compiled and sent to PennDOT for review.

The township will be posting in local newspapers and online platforms such as Municibid, a Chevrolet 2500 truck with a plow available for bidding. Starting at $12,000, the auction will be live for approximately one month.

The municipal residential tire collection dates were set for May 17 and 18 at the township office. Only residential tires will be allowed at the collection, not commercial, and each township resident will be allowed to bring only 12 tires to be recycled.

Dubbed “Mulch Days,” the township mulch pile will be available for township residents beginning in May. Two Saturdays in May will be chosen in the near future where a township employee will be available to load mulch in residents trucks or trailers.

Supervisors also expressed their support and approval of the Iron Man race taking place on Sunday, June 30 from 7 AM to 2 PM within the township limits. The 70.3 mile race consists of a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride, and a 13.1 mile run through Centre and Clinton Counties. A portion of the bicycling part of the race will be happening in Bald Eagle Township.
