NW Regional Pairings for Wildcats and Bulldogs

ALTOONA- The pairings for this weekend’s Northwest Regional Class AAA wrestling championship tournament have been released and we will list below the match-ups for the defending tournament champion Central Mountain Wildcats.
The times for the wrestling this Friday and Saturday were not released at the time of this story, but will be released as soon as received. Wrestlers from District 6, 4, 8, 9 and 10 will converge on Altoona this weekend to earn the right to advance to the PIAA Class AAA Championships to be held in Hershey on March 7,8,9.
Here are the Wildcats and Jersey Shore Bulldogs opening match-ups this coming in Friday night action. They will be listed as (District Place) Wrestler Name (Gr, Record) School:
107 – (6-1) Gavin Heverly (Fr, 32-10) first round bye. In the championship quarterfinals he will face the winner of (10-3) Ronnie Delgado (Jr, 7-14) Erie McDowell vs (4/9-2) Jacob Hendricks (Fr, 14-13).
121 – (6-1) Aiden Kunes (Fr, 31-13) vs (4/9-5) Steven Bott (So, 7-11) Williamsport and in the quarterfinals the winner face the winner of (8-3) Jakari King (Jr, 7-17) Taylor Allderdice vs (4/9-2) Dyson Gould (Sr, 10-2) Punxsutawney.
127 – (6-3) Patrick Tarantella (Fr, 23-18) vs (4/9-2) Eben Kisner (Jr, 19-11) Shikellamy and in quarterfinals the winner will face the winner of (4/9-4) Mason Winter (So, 17-14) Jersey Shore vs (8-1) Charles Bottoms (So, 15-13) Obama Academy.
133 – (4/9-3) Camden Baker (So, 15-16) vs (8-2) Joshua Chung (Fr, 3-6) Obama Academy and the winner will face (10-1) Dylan O’Brien (Jr, 28-11) Hickory who received a bye.
139 – (6-1) Dalton Perry (Jr, 29-2) receives a 1st round bye and in quarterfinals he will meet the winner of (4/9-3) Tadd Ungard (Jr, 5-11) Williamsport vs (10-2) Mike Reardon (Jr, 17-10) Hickory.
139 – (4/9-1) Brock Weiss (Sr, 27-0) receives a 1st round bye and will meet the winner of (8-2) Ezekiel McHenry (Sr, 12-16) vs (6-3) Wyatt Young (Sr, 15-12) Altoona. (NOTE: Weiss and Perry would not face each other until the finals, barring any big upsets).
145 – (6-2) Luke Simcox (Sr, 23-3) vs (4/9-4) Maximus Irving (Fr, 4-20) Shikellamy and in the quarterfinals the winner will face the winner of (10-1) Ryder Say (So, 30-5) Meadville vs (8-3) Ronell Strickland (So, 3-9). (NOTE: Pierson Manville of State College is in the opposite bracket and they would not meet until the finals, barring any big upsets).
145 – (4/9-5) Tobias Morgret (Fr, 11-12) vs (8-1) Ashton Smith (Sr, 11-4) Carrick and the winner will meet the winner of (4/9-2) Carter Vos (Jr, 11-17) DuBois vs (10-3) Gabe Dorman (Fr, 28-8) Erie Cathedral Prep in quarterfinals.
