District 6 5A Basketball Championship Brackets Released

The District 6 Basketball Championship brackets have just been unveiled, setting the stage for an exciting showdown. Both the Central Mountain girls’ and boys’ teams have secured the coveted number 3 seed in their respective brackets, positioning them for tough semi-final clashes.

In the girls’ bracket, the Central Mountain squad is slated to face off against Shikellamy on Tuesday, February 20th, with tip-off set for 7 p.m. Meanwhile, in another tough matchup, Hollidaysburg, the number one seed, will take on Selinsgrove, the number four seed. The CM Girls were in close games this season with Shikellamy losing 36-34 and 51-50 to the Lady Braves.

On the boys’ side, the Wildcats are gearing up for a showdown against Selinsgrove on Wednesday, February 21st, also kicking off at 7 p.m. As in the girls’ division, Hollidaysburg leads the charge as the number one seed in the 5A Boys division, poised to battle Shikellamy, the number 4 seed. The boys lost to Selinsgrove by narrow margins this season 62-51 and 62-55.

With stakes running high, the teams that emerge victorious will advance to the District 6 Championships, set to take place on February 24th at Mt. Aloysius. Fans can expect nothing short of thrilling basketball action in the post season.
