Retail Theft/Shoplifting

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – PSP Lamar charged a 38-year-old female of Lock Haven with retail theft after asset protection stopped her from leaving the premises at Walmart in Mill Hall on February 8, 2024. According to police reports, the woman attempted to leave with $49.34 worth of groceries.

Vehicle Crash

GALLAGHER TOWNSHIP – On February 4, 2024, at 9:53 a.m., a one-vehicle crash occurred southbound on Little Plum Run Road in Gallagher Township. While negotiating a left-hand curve, the driver lost control in some gravel which caused the vehicle to go sideways and roll over in the opposing travel lane. No one was injured from the crash and the vehicle, identified as a 2016 Mini Countryman, was towed from the scene by Showcase Auto Repair.

DUI

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – On February 3, 2024, at 5:46 p.m., PSP Lamar made contact with the driver of a 2002 Jeep on Draketown Road/Hogan Boulevard. The individual, identified in the police report as a 41-year-old male from Jersey Shore, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Hit and Run

BEECH CREEK – On February 3, 2024, Daniel Kauffman, 53, of Mill Hall, was traveling eastbound on Martins Grove Road in Beech Creek when he failed to negotiate a right-hand curve in the roadway and continued off the roadway into a privately owned field. Kauffman attempted to turn around in the field and exit the way he came in but got stuck in soft mud. He was eventually able to free the ‘94 Ford Ranger he was driving but left deeply gouged ruts in the field. Upon exiting the field, Kauffman continued eastbound on Martins Grove Road and did not attempt to contact police or the property owner before leaving the scene.

Harassment

CRAWFORD TOWNSHIP – On February 3, 2024, PSP Lamar assisted Children and Youth Services in the investigation of a report of child abuse that occurred on Rauchtown Road in Crawford Township. The victim is identified as a 4-year-old female from Jersey Shore. Anyone with information is asked to call police.

Careless Driving – Misdemeanor/Felony Violation

MILL HALL – On February 2, 2024, at 9:35 a.m. a traffic stop was conducted at the intersection of W. Peale Avenue and Birch Alley. The driver, a 31-year-old male of Mill Hall, was found to be in violation of a misdemeanor offense. Charges are pending.

Theft by Deception/Identity Theft

GALLAGHER TOWNSHIP – A 54-year-old male from Lock Haven reported an additional phone line that was added to his Verizon account without his permission on January 31, 2024. Anyone with information is asked to call police.

Theft of Motor Vehicle

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – On January 27, 2024, Lori Cross, 47, of North Bend reported that her vehicle was stolen from her on the side of the road, believed to be at or near 3400 Laurel Run Road. The vehicle was later located by PSP Lamar, however the investigation is ongoing.

Theft

BEECH CREEK – PSP Lamar is investigating a report of funds being fraudulently withdrawn from the bank account of a 71-year-old male from Beech Creek. A total of $17,000.00 was stolen from the victim between January 18, 2024, and January 25, 2024. Anyone with information is asked to call police.

Harassment

FLEMINGTON – PSP Lamar is investigating a report of child abuse that occurred on Frederick Street in Flemington between October 21, 2023, and November 23, 2023. According to police reports, the victim is a 3-year-old female. Anyone with further information is asked to call police.
