The Bus Stops Here Celebrates Grand Re-Opening and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony At Its New Location in DLH

By Emily Wright

LOCK HAVEN – The Bus Stops Here celebrated its Grand Re-Opening and Ribbon ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday morning at its new location at 25 East Main Street in Downtown Lock Haven. The ceremony was attended by approximately 30 people, including members of the Lock Haven City Council, PA State Representative Stephanie Borowicz, community members and supporters, and members of the Clinton County Economic Partnership, who provided the ceremonial ribbon.

The Bus Stops Here has been owned and operated by Paula and John Neyhart for a total of 30 years. The local business specializes in educational materials and first opened on August 5, 1993, at its original location on the corner of East Main and Henderson Streets. After 17 years, the business relocated to 115 East Main Street, where Paula ran it for the next 13 years. Finally, after its grand re-opening, The Bus Stops Here has settled into its new permanent location at 25 East Main Street, in what was the former Santander Bank building. This location offers triple the floor space and can accommodate a wider range of products and displays. Paula described her new space as “a dream come true”.

The idea for The Bus Stops Here came from Paula’s belief that the community would appreciate educational materials that are not only useful for teachers to use in their classrooms but also for anyone with children in their lives. With the business’s longstanding history in Lock Haven, the idea has proven to be a success, as customers continue to flock to the store for its carefully selected and high-quality educational products.

As a retired teacher with 40 years of experience, Paula brings her passion for education to the store. She continues to stay updated on changes and advancements in education, making her a valuable resource for insight and recommendations on educational materials and ways to assist a child in understanding a specific concept.

In celebration of its grand re-opening, The Bus Stops Here is offering a gift certificate giveaway as well as vouchers for a 20% discount on one item until Saturday, February 10 (excluding LEGO, gift card purchases, and previously reduced items).

Relocating the business to its new location required the help of several hands, and Paula extends a big thank you to “the crew that made it happen,”. Those individuals are Sue and Gary Swisher, Mary Margaret and Matt Winton, and Lori and Rob Williams.

The Bus Stops Here is open for business at its new address and welcomes the community to check out the wide range of fun and educational materials.
