LHU’s Robinson wins sixth PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week this season

LOCK HAVEN – The new Lock Haven women’s basketball all-time blocks leader Alana Robinson (Rockaway, N.J./Pope John Paul II) was honored by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) for the sixth time this season as the Eastern Division Defensive Athlete of the Week, announced on Monday (Jan. 22).

Robinson has brought home six of the eight defensive honors that have been awarded so far this season.

The new block queen at Lock Haven, Robinson, set the new program-record after blocking eight more shots last week to move her career total to 97 and season total to 44. Robinson leads the league in blocked shots by 14.

Robinson broke the career blocks record through under two seasons at The Haven.

The sophomore also ranks in the top-10 in steals with 31, averaging 1.9 per game.

On Wednesday, in the victory over East Stroudsburg, the Bald Eagles broke the program record for consecutive victories after winning their 15th straight game.

Robinson nearly secured a triple-double the hard way, totaling eight points, 11 rebounds, seven blocks and three steals.

She followed that game with 12 points, seven rebounds a block and steal to lead The Haven to its 16th straight victory after downing Shepherd on Saturday.

The Bald Eagles improved to a perfect 10-0 in PSAC play. The Haven is now 4-0 vs. PSAC East opponents and Lock Haven is a perfect 7-0 at home.

The Bald Eagles have not lost since the season-opener back on November 10, 2023. With the 10-0 conference mark, Lock Haven clearly sits atop the PSAC East standings and is one of just two remaining unbeatens in the league (Gannon, PSAC West, 11-0).

The Bald Eagles moved up two spots to No. 2 in the D2CSC Atlantic Region rankings, announced Monday (Jan. 22).
