LHU Swimming hosts Kutztown for PSAC dual
LOCK HAVEN – The Lock Haven women’s swimming team hosted its final home meet of the 2023-24 season by welcoming Kutztown to Zimmerli Pool on Saturday (Jan. 20).
The gritty Bald Eagles finished with several very fast swims on the afternoon against a good test in Kutztown.
The Bald Eagles received standout efforts from Noro Craig (Dover, Pa./Dover), Emma Pequignot (Dover, Pa./Dover) Holly Cleworth (Cape Town, Western Cape; South Africa/Springfield Convent of the Holy Rosary) and Sydney Houck (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon).
Kutztown came out on top of the event, 151-99.
The Bald Eagles move to 2-5 in duals this year. Kutztown improves to 6-4.
Craig shined with a pair of victories in the 500-yard free (5:42.05) and 200-yard backstroke (2:23.61).
Cleworth kicked off the individual portion of the afternoon with a victory in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 12:02.10.
Houck continues to excel in the 200-yard breaststroke as she grabbed gold with swims of 1:11.29 and 2:38.20, respectively.
Pequignot rounded out the group of winners with a victory in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:23.87.
The 200-yard freestyle team of Craig, Mackenzie Eades (Derry, Pa./Derry), Espefani Santos-Soto (Hazelton, Pa./Hazelton) and Jessie Noldy (Hop Bottom, Pa./Elk Lake) finished second with a time of 1:48.66.

The Bald Eagles travel to NCAA DI Saint Francis on Sunday, Jan. 21 for a 1 p.m. non-conference dual meet in Loretta, Pennsylvania.
The 2023-24 championship event will be held over four days (Feb. 14-17) at the Keystone Aquatics Center in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
