Vehicle Crash

GREENE TOWNSHIP – On January 11, 2024, Driver Sanford Magenheim, 65, of Livingston, NJ, was traveling west on I80 in a 2024 Mazda CX-30 when he traveled off the roadway and down the exit ramp at mile marker 185 before continuing through the intersection. His vehicle then made contact with the guide rail where it came to a final rest. No injuries were sustained in the crash.

Commercial Vehicle Crash

GREENE TOWNSHIP – PSP Lamar responded to a vehicle accident on January 9, 2024, at 12:39 p.m. on Route I80 in Greene Township near mile marker 185. Anthony Adamcheck, 24, of Newton, CT, was traveling east on I80 in a 2023 Honda Civic when he attempted to pass Robert Tucker, 58, of Carrollton, OH, who was driving a 2024 Cascadia Freightliner commercial vehicle. According to police reports, Adamcheck failed to pass Tucker properly and struck the trailer of the Freightliner, causing minor damage. Adamcheck’s vehicle then traveled off the roadway and crashed into the embankment at mile marker 185, causing disabling damage to the front end. His vehicle came to a final rest in the crossover facing south. No injuries were reported due to this accident.

Vehicle Crash

LAMAR TOWNSHIP – On January 9, 2024, PSP Lamar responded to a one-vehicle accident on Nittany Valley Drive just north of Hill Street in Lamar. The driver, Jodeci Chasen, 32, of Howard, was traveling north at 10 MPH when she failed to negotiate a right-hand curve and drove off the roadway, before striking a tree. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene and no injuries were reported due to the crash.

Commercial Vehicle Crash

GREENE TOWNSHIP – PSP Lamar responded to an accident that took place near the intersection of Rauchtown Road and Hevner Road in Greene Township on January 9, 2024, at 1:37 p.m. Larry Long Jr., 55, of Ephrata, PA was traveling downhill in a 2005 International Harvester 8600 SBA at approximately 35 MPH when he lost control due to bad road conditions. The commercial vehicle slid sideways and eventually traveled in the opposite lane, hitting a 2006 Jeep Commander driven by Michael Sheasley, 46, of Loganton. Following the collision, Long proceeded off the roadway to the west before traveling back onto the road and crossing over both lanes of traffic to the east where he hit multiple trees before coming to a final rest. Both vehicles were towed as a result of the accident and no injuries were reported.

Vehicle Crash

LAMAR TOWNSHIP – PSP Lamar responded to a vehicle accident that occurred on January 9, 2024, at 10:29 a.m. on I80 East at the 192.1 mile marker in Lamar Township. Terry Nitschike, 66, of Oak Harbor, OH, was driving a 2021 Freightliner Cascadia while traveling in the left lane when he drove off the left side of the roadway and struck a rock wall, causing disabling damage to the undercarriage of the Freightliner. No injuries were sustained in the crash.

DUI

PORTER TOWNSHIP – On December 20, 2023, at 10:39 p.m., PSP Lamar initiated a traffic stop on Nittany Valley Drive. Upon police investigation, it was determined that the driver, Gregory Capparelle, 64, of Howard, was under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently charged with DUI/Title 75 Violation.

DISCHARGE OF FIREARM INTO OCCUPIED STRUCTURE; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

RENOVO-Renovo Police are investigating an incident in the 700 block of Huron Av, Renovo, where a person is reported to have shot a firearm through the door of an occupied building during the evening of 01/04/24.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

RENOVO-Renovo Police are investigating an incident of criminal mischief which occurred during the overnight hours of 01/04/24 – 01/05/24 between 2200 – 0900 hrs.  A victim had his vehicle “egged” while parked in the 400 block of Erie Ave.

THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING

RENOVO-On 01/11/24 between 0400-0600 hrs, a known 48 year old male suspect was seen stealing a nominal amount of property, sleeping in a business and creating a disorderly scene in the 1300 block of Huron Av in Renovo Borough.  Prosecution was declined and the male was trespassed from the premises.
