Vehicle Crash
LAMAR – On January 9, 2024, at 8:47 a.m. PSP Lamar responded to a one vehicle accident that occurred on Nittany Valley Drive near its intersection with Fernberg Road in Lamar Township. According to police reports, Christine Vonada, 81, of Howard, was traveling south at approximately 35 MPH when her vehicle lost control due to bad road conditions and left the roadway before entering a ditch and overturning. The vehicle came to a final rest facing north on its roof. No injuries were reported from this crash.
Theft by Deception/Identity Theft
BEECH CREEK – On January 9, 2024, at 10:23 a.m. PSP Lamar investigated an incident involving theft by deception/identity theft using personal information of a victim described as a 47-year-old male of Beech Creek according to police reports. This incident remains open pending further investigation.
Theft/Crime By Deception
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Between January 7-8, 2024, an incident involving theft/crime by deception took place at 1028 Plunket Run Road in Bald Eagle Township. This investigation remains open pending further investigation.
Retail theft/Shoplifting
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – On January 5, 2024, at 3:20 p.m. PSP Lamar was dispatched to Walmart in Mill Hall for a reported retail theft. Through investigation it was determined that the actor did pay for the items and no further action was taken.
Lost/Missing Firearm
BEECH CREEK – On January 5, 2024, PSP Lamar responded to 44 Mapes Road in Beech Creek for a lost Ruger 22 Caliber Pistol. Further investigation led to the firearm being located and the owner is waiting for it to be returned.
Vehicle Crash
WAYNE TOWNSHIP – PSP Lamar responded to a vehicle crash that took place on US 220 on January 5, 2024 at 7:49 a.m. in Wayne Township. Driver Clyde Weaver, 36, of Lock Haven, was traveling north when a deer entered the roadway from the left side. Weaver’s 2014 Ford Escape struck the deer at the 12 o’clock position, causing disabling damage to the vehicle. There were no injuries reported in this crash and the vehicle was towed from the scene by Bressler’s Towing.
Harassment/Physical Contact
PORTER TOWNSHIP – PSP Lamar responded to Furnace Road in Porter Township on January 4, 2024 at 8:45 p.m. to investigate a report of abuse. The investigation revealed that the claims were unfounded and no further action was taken.
