LHU’s Collier named to D2Football.com Elite 100

GOLDEN, CO – The postseason accolades for Lock Haven football’s Chris Collier (Elmhurst, N.Y./Lawrence) continue to roll in as the standout running back was named to the 2023 D2Football.com Elite 100 list, announced by the organization on Thursday, Dec. 28.

Since its inception in 2000, D2Football.com has announced an Elite 100 list annually with input from coaches, scouts, media, and sports information directors from around the country. The Elite 100 list replaced the organization’s All-America teams.

Collier, who was named a First Team AFCA DII All-American in early December, landed on the Third Team at running back on the Elite 100 list.

The graduate transfer’s 2023 major awards include: The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Offensive Player of the Year, First Team All-PSAC East selection and Second Team D2CCA All-Region honoree and First Team AFCA All-American.

Collier, who led the PSAC is total rushing yards (1,393), rushing yards-per-game (126.6) and ranked second in rushing touchdowns (12), helped lead the Bald Eagles to their first five-win season since 1982.

In the process, he became Lock Haven’s first 1,000-yard rusher since 1981, while his 1,393 rushing yards broke the Lock Haven single-season record set by Lock Haven Hall of Famer Joe Speese’s in 1979.
