HUGHESVILLE- Central Mountain rebounded quickly following their semifinal loss to host Hughesville last evening by handling one of the NTL’s best programs in Wyalusing with ease, 65-43.

Freshman Camdyn Weaver led the way for Central Mountain by dropping in 18 points in her first varsity start. Taylor Doyle, who would be named to the all-tournament squad would drop in 13. Sister Ava Doyle would also score 13 points and Lena Walker also hit for lucky number 13 on her point total.

Wyalusing’s Chloe Bennett had the big night. Bennett, despite being on the losing end of the spectrum would score a game-high 34 points, including 9 three-point baskets. Her efforts weren’t enough for her Lady Rams on this night.

CM broke out to a 16-10 lead in the first quarter. The Lady Wildcats just kept coming at Wyalusing in the second quarter with their 18-12 second quarter advantage.

Central Mountain’s 34-22 halftime lead would never really be threatened, despite Bennett’s hot hand. CM’s 23-17 third quarter would eliminate any chance for a comeback. Wyalusing’s 10-8 fourth quarter advantage would set the final.

Central Mountain improved to 5-3 on the season and will next meet Shikellamy on the road January 2.

Wyalusing dropped to 5-4 on the season.

The Central Mountain JV team lost in overtime. Aubrey Eiler leading the way with 11 and Grace Keohane with 10 points for the Wildcats.
