HUGHESVILLE- The Lady Spartans of Hughesville are arguably the District IV 3A favorites as the calendar year is set to roll around. Hughesville entered their own holiday tournament on Wednesday night and would easily run their winning streak to seven games following a 60-23 victory over the Central Mountain Lady Wildcats.

Hughesville charged out to a 24-6 lead after one quarter. The Lady Spartans’ offensive barrage would only continue in the second quarter. Hughesville’s 24-10 second quarter would build their lead to 48-16 at halftime.

With the game well in hand, Central Mountain would show some life in the second half by holding Hughesville to just 12 second half points, but the Lady Wildcats could only net a total of 7 points in the second half.

Elise McKean and Taylor Doyle would lead Central Mountain with 5 points each. Breanna Bobak led the Lady Spartans with 14 points, while Alli Anstadt would net 11 for the now 7-1 Hughesville team.
