LHU’s Robinson, Jordan sweep PSAC East Women’s Basketball weekly awards

LOCK HAVEN. – The Lock Haven women’s basketball team swept this week’s Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) weekly awards with Jenadia Jordan earning PSAC East Athlete of the Week, while Alana Robinson was named Defensive Athlete of the Week for the third straight week.

Robinson and Jordan have combined to win five PSAC East weekly honors, with Robinson winning three straight on defense and Jordan bringing home her second on offense this season.

The duo kicked off the week by leading the Bald Eagles to a second-half comeback victory over Seton Hill on Monday, before knocking off No. 13 California (Pa.) on the road on Tuesday.

In the two victories, Robinson blocked seven shots and plucked three steals.

Robinson kicked off the week with 22 points (9-of-14), seven rebounds, three blocks and four steals in the victory over Seton Hill, before leading Lock Haven to an upset over the No. 13 Vulcans with 13 points, five rebounds and four blocks.

Robinson leads the entire PSAC in blocks (20) and blocks per game (2.0), while her total blocks are seven more than anyone in the conference. She now sits in fourth place all-time in Bald Eagles’ history.

Jordan was a swiss-army knife during the 2-0 week for Lock Haven, averaging 18.5 points, 5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.5 steals and a block during the week.

The sophomore guard led the Bald Eagles to their ninth straight victory over their toughest opponent of the season, Cal, where she poured in 20 points to go with four rebounds, four steals and two blocks.

The performance followed a 16-point, six-rebound and four-assist outburst in the victory over Seton Hill.

Lock Haven (9-1, 4-0 PSAC), who currently sits at No. 8 in the Atlantic Region rankings, is the only unbeaten team remaining in the PSAC East and sits atop the standings. The Haven has won nine games in a row and hasn’t lost since the first game of the season.
