LHU Swimming wraps up impressive three days at Wooster Invite
WOOSTER, OH – The Lock Haven women’s swimming team returned for the final day of the Wooster Invite on Saturday (Dec. 2) and wrapped up an impressive week inside the Ellen Shapiro Natatorium.
The Bald Eagles return home with multiple PSAC qualifiers after an impressive weekend that featured personal and season-bests swims by every athlete.
Sydney Houck (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon) continued her impressive weekend with another PSAC qualifying race in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing the prelim with a time of 2:35.53, before swimming a 2:35.42 in the final.
Alaina Cane (Bellefonte, Pa./Bald Eagle Area) swam a PSAC qualifying time in the 100-yard freestyle with a personal-best swim of 56.05. She returned for the finals, placing 14th with a swim of 55.81.
Holly Cleworth (Cape Town, Western Cape; South Africa Springfield Convent of the Holy Rosary) started off her day by reaching the 200-backstroke final with a personal-best time of 2:12.48 (PSAC time), securing the fifth seed. Cleworth would finish fourth in the final with a time of 2:08.36.
Emma Pequignot (Dover, Pa./Dover) made the finals in the 200-yard butterfly with her PSAC qualifying time of 2:16.22, before swimming a 2:17.62 in the finals to place third.
Nora Craig (Dover, Pa./Dover) also reached the final in the 200-yard back with a personal-best swim of 2:21.92. Craig also notched a season-best in the 1650-yard free with a finish of 19:48.01, adding a personal-best split of 11:56.62 in the 1000-yard.
Mackenzie Eades (Derry, Pa./Derry) joined her in the 1650-yard free and secured a season-best time of 12:25.67 in the 1000-yard split.
Espefani Santos-Soto (Hazelton, Pa./Hazelton Area) broke the one-minute mark in the 100-yard freestyle for the first time, finishing in 59.75.
Jessie Noly (Hop Bottom, Pa./Elk Lake) swam a season-best in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing in 1:03.10.
