KCSD expected to appoint Dr. Francis Redmon as Next Superintendent

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA- The Keystone Central School District is expected to appoint Dr. Francis Redmon as the next superintendent of schools at an upcoming special voting meeting on November 30, 2023.  Superintendent Dr. Jacquelyn Martin will be finishing a five-year contract with the district on January 31, 2024, and will hand over the commissioned officer duties to her successor beginning February 1, 2024.  Dr. Martin has pledged to fully support Dr. Redmon in his transition.

Superintendent Martin noted, “Dr. Redmon is going to be a great asset to the school district and community.  His skill set and experience with future-focused school systems make him the perfect leader to continue the work established in the district’s comprehensive plan.”

Dr. Redmon is an experienced Superintendent, serving in the Quilcene School District in Washington and the Ashgabat International School in Turkmenistan. He also brings experience as a building administrator and a middle and high school science and math teacher. He is a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy after graduating from high school.

Dr. Redmon’s appointment follows a comprehensive national search, which included input from various stakeholders. His selection underscores the district’s commitment to leadership that is focused on academic excellence and the well-being of all students. The district has offered a four-and-a-half-year contract with an end date of June 30, 2028.  Dr. Redmon and his wife, Sharon, are looking forward to moving into the district and becoming part of the community.
