Leadership Clinton County learns about local history

LOCK HAVEN, PA – Leadership Clinton County participants had the opportunity to learn about the rich history in Clinton County recently. Their lesson included touring the Heisey House Museum, Poorman Gallery and ice house; the Clinton Central Model Railroad club which features their layout of model trains and railroad memorabilia; a 1941 vintage restored caboose; the historical kiosk at the Castanea Train Station; and the Piper Aviation Museum.

They heard from local historians Joby Topper and Rich Wykoff, who shared stories of famous people and towns of Clinton County, and the past logging industry, respectively. Participants also had the chance to test their knowledge of Clinton County by working on a mapping exercise where they were able to learn about the various resources and tourist attractions that are in the county.
