CM freshman Lindsay into PIAA tennis championship final

HERSHEY, PA – Central Mountain freshman Addison Lindsay has advanced to the PIAA AAA state finals. Lindsay had her toughest match of the season in Saturday morning’s semi-final against District 1 runner-up Dasha Chichkina, a senior from Council Rock South. Lindsay lost the first set, 6-4, took the second by the same 6-4 score and won the decisive third set by a 7-5 score.

The victory moves her into Saturday’s 4 p.m. final against defending PIAA champion and District 1 titlist Grace Li from Unionville. Li, a senior, advanced to the finals with a 6-1, 7-5 win over Helena Lynn from Bethlehem Liberty.

Lindsay earlier this fall became the first Clinton County tennis player to ever win a girls’ District 6 singles title.

With a 3-0 mark so far at the Hershey Racquet Club this weekend, she is now one win away from becoming the county’s first female state champion.
