Keohane punches ticket to Hershey in District 6 Cross Country Championships

REEDSVILLE, PA-The Central Mountain Boys and Girls Cross Country team competed in the District 6 Championships Saturday morning at Indian Valley Elementary Center in Reedsville, PA.  The Wildcats were focused and ready to give their best effort knowing to qualify for the state meet they had to finish somewhere in the top 10.

Sophomore Grace Keohane had a game plan going into the race and followed it to a T.  Grace ran side by side with Freshmen Madeline Sanders from Williamsport in the 7th/8th position the entire race.  As they were climbing the last hill, Keohane found another gear and passed Sanders and Devyani Wadhia from State College to finish in 6th place in 20:14.90 and punch her ticket to Hershey.  Keohane will compete on November 4th at 11:00 at the State Championships in Hershey.

Freshmen Gabriella Hosley was the second Wildcat to cross the finish line in 24 place with a new PR of 22:00.20.  Emma Wolfe finished in 33rd place in a PR time 23:14.40.  Rounding out the top 7 in the varsity race were Calienna Cardinal finsihed 35th in 23:40.30, Sofia Dressler 37th in 24:15.50, Aubrey Eiler 38th in 24:21.40, and Abrianna Hosley 42nd in 24:56.20. In the JV race, Central Mountain entered 5 girls and came away with 3 PR’s.  Gracie Johnson finished in 26:10.20, Adrien Samaniego PR’d in 28:38.80, Sage Rippey PR’d in29:06.80, Sophia Croce 29:27.90, and Kennedy Metzger PR’d in 33:08.10.

The Central Mountain Boys Cross Country Team was led by sophomore Sam Wible.  Wible finished in 18:33.80.  Shayden Hill was the lone Wildcat to PR on the day in 20:30.10.  This was his 6th PR of the season.
