First Quality Products lends support to new Clinton County Veterans Park
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Dave Harger, chairman of the committee placing a renewed Clinton County Veterans Park across from the county courthouse in Lock Haven, has announced a significant project contribution from First Quality Products.
“We are pleased to announce that First Quality Products has presented a check for $25,000 to the Veterans Park Committee. I was completely humbled by the generosity of First Quality, and specifically the Damaghi family. They have always been so willing to donate to our Veteran causes and have done so quietly for years, donating to my charity that focuses on our local Veterans. I want to thank them personally for everything they have done for us. We can really count our blessings that we have them in our community.”
Harger provided an update on the evolving project: As of now the site has all items removed and repurposed to new locations. The monuments are now at the county Piper Building, the tablets from the gazebo are at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post on E. Water Street and will be mounted in the hall there.
Major construction is slated to be finished in the spring of 2024, possibly in time for Memorial Day or D Day, according to Harger. The main art feature is at the bronzing company in Kentucky and hopefully will be completed sometime in February. The new flag poles, seven in all, have been purchased and are stored and the steel is at Faber Burner in Lock Haven waiting to be cut. Concrete footings and sidewalk locations are being designed with the help of Central Mountain High School faculty member Fred Hoy and student Carter Perry.
Harger said the finish line is approaching, “Once things get settled there will be a flurry of activity to finish things. To say I’m ready to see it done is an understatement, it’s been a long road but a worthy journey”.
