‘Shore rolls over Brashear, 63-0

JERSEY SHORE, PA – On a rainy Friday at Thompson Street Stadium, the Bulldogs of Jersey Shore took on a new opponent in the Bulls of Brashear from the Pittsburgh City League,
This game came about due to a cancellation of the Bulldog’s original game (vs Central Prep of Harlem, NY), and an unexpected open date for Brashear do to a tie in their League standings. The Bulldogs romped to a 63-0 win over the District 8 school.
Jersey Shore got a solid win last week vs Montoursville in its 4th consecutive road game 38-21 with Dyson Tyson having a career night with 16 receptions (ties team record), 256 yards and 3 TDS. The Bulldogs topped 300 yards passing for the second straight game (322) and Elijah Jordan ran for 78 yards & 1 TD. Bo Sechrist added a 19 yard rushing touchdown.
The Bulls came into the game at 2-6, losing their last 2 after 2 consecutive wins in the middle part of the season.
Ashton Sweeley got Jersey Shore started with a dynamic 79 yard punt return after Brashear punted after picking up 2 first downs on their first drive. The Herr PAT made it 7-0 at the mark of the first quarter.
After a sack on a punt attempt by the Bulls, the Bulldogs took over at the 20 yard line and scored on 2plays both byTate Seachrist (19 & scoring run of 1 yard0; 7:10 of first Herr PAT 14-0.
Another short field after a short Brashear set up Jersey Shore and after a few Seachrist runs; 3:49; 15 yard pass Loomis to Elijah Jordan (Herr PAT) 21-0.
Jordan added a 46 yard run on a jet sweep at the 2:04 left in the first quarter, Herr PAT upped the score to 28-0.
On the next possession Payton Whitman returned a short punt to the Bulls 17 & on the next play Elijah Jordan took an option play in for the Bulldogs fourth TD of the night (Herr PAT). The Jersey Shore lead was extended to 35-0 with less than a minute to go in the first quarter.
Seachrist added his 2nd TD on a 4 yard rush to add to the Bulldog lead at 10:34 of the 2nd (Herr PAT), Jersey Shore led 42-0.
Brodie Herr joined in the scoring on a great 40 yard run showing his power and speed. (Herr PAT; Jersey Shore 49-0 with 8:04 remaining in the first half.
Bo Sechrist broke free for 63 yards to add to the lead (4:44); Herr PAT Shore lead 56-0 at the half.
With the game in the mercy rule, Shore got great work from its second & third teams in the second half and Talon Mauck added a 5 yard TD rush (7:35, 3rd; Herr PAT). Jersey Shore led 63-0 and that was the final score for the game.
With the win, Jersey Shore improved to 8-0-1; Brashear fell to 2-7.
The Bulldogs return to Thompson Street Stadium next week to wrap up the regular season vs rival Central Mountain.
