Lock Haven’s New Roofing and Construction Power Couple: Meet Robbie and Sarah Getz of RTG Solutions

LOCK HAVEN, PA – Robbie and Sarah Getz have recently launched their new commercial roofing and construction business, RTG Solutions, in Lock Haven. With a focus on providing personalized services and meeting their customers’ needs, this dynamic duo is ready to take on any roofing or construction project, big or small.
So, what sets RTG Solutions apart from other roofing companies in the area? According to Robbie, it starts with the “Solutions” part of the business’s name. “Solutions” was inspired by Robbie’s desire to offer more than just a quick fix. The goal is to provide an individualized experience, troubleshooting problems with the customers, and offering options that fit their specific needs and budget.
While Robbie supervises and works at job sites, his wife Sarah manages administrative tasks and schedules jobs for the business.
RTG Solutions offers a wide range of services including commercial roofing, roof preventative maintenance, repairs, re-roofing, new construction roofing, coatings and waterproofing, safety equipment installation, interior renovations, painting, HVAC, masonry, and more.

Sarah added that they’ve also put an emphasis on the importance of keeping their employees safe, and they plan to provide top-quality safety equipment. “Safety equipment is not something that we want to skimp on,” she said.
One thing that sets RTG apart from other roofing companies is its ability to perform work for the state and federal government, as they are a certified Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) and Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) company. These programs were created by the government to ensure that women-owned businesses in rural or underdeveloped areas are given preference for federal contracts. These certifications also make RTG an attractive partner to larger businesses that can mentor RTG through government projects and accelerate growth.
RTG Solutions is also a vendor on the OMNIA Partners purchasing cooperative, the largest such organization in the country, which provides public agencies (schools, universities, churches, non-profit agencies, municipalities, etc.) access to negotiated pricing and discounts on a wide
range of products and services, including roofing materials and construction services. The approval and recognition from OMNIA Partners further solidifies RTG Solutions’ credibility and professionalism, as they must meet certain standards and requirements to obtain approval.
The couple is committed to serving the Lock Haven community first and foremost, but Robbie mentioned that he is willing to go the distance for their customers. He shared that he recently traveled to West Virginia for a job, and expressed that the company is open to considering opportunities outside of the area, especially federal projects. “We want to be able to offer that option to our employees if they’re willing to travel,” Robbie explained.
Sarah already has plans to make their future employees feel valued and appreciated for their efforts. “Eventually we want to offer insurance, retirement, benefits, and safety bonuses to our employees,” she said.“I really want to make sure that we don’t just take care of the employee, but that we also take care of their families too.”
Sarah and Robbie have two daughters: Mallory, who is eight years old, and Leah, just 11 months old. Sarah emphasized the importance she places on being a family-oriented employer, stating, “When you have an employee, you don’t just have an employee; you have their family to take care of too. That’s why I want us to be a family-oriented company.”
Robbie’s background in the commercial roofing industry played a significant role in the decision to open the business. “It was an easy decision to start a business. I feel very passionate about what I do and I’m confident in the quality of the services that I can offer to people,” Robbie said. Sarah added that she and Robbie have been together for 13 years, and she’s seen the quality of his work over the course of time. “I can honestly say that Robbie is such a hard worker, and he is so meticulous about everything, especially when it comes to making sure that everything is of a high quality,” she said.
Robbie mentioned that he got started in the roofing industry at an early age. “I started as summer help when I was 18, right out of high school, and I applied myself. I became a foreman and now I have the ability to make a business grow by using everything I’ve learned and putting in the hard work.” He says that he had a mentor who guided him along the way and now he wants to offer the same opportunity to individuals who want to enter the roofing industry but lack experience. To ensure optimal service, the Getz’s are currently utilizing a sub-crew model until their team expands.
The Getz’s aim is to be more than just a roofing and construction business; they want to make a positive impact on their community and create a legacy for their own family while also providing stable employment opportunities for their future employees.
The RTG Solutions building is still under construction, but the pair are actively accepting projects. Their hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with emergency services available outside of office hours. Robbie and Sarah have plans to eventually offer a 24-hour service when they have more employees to better serve their customers, but for now, as Sarah puts it, “If someone calls me, I send him (Robbie) out”.
