Jersey Shore beats Montoursville on the road to remain unbeaten on the season.

MOUNTOURSVILLE, PA-Jersey Shore (6-0-1) made the short trip down Rt. 220 to Montoursville for a Week #8 match up vs the Warriors (3-3).

Montoursville came into the game off a lopsided loss to Danville 56-0 while Shore got its third straight road win over Shamokin 42-7. In that game, Senior QB, Jerrin Loomis threw for a carer high 406 yards & 4 TDs with three Bulldog receivers (Tyson, Sweeley & Evan Snyder) all having 100+ receiving yards in the win.

Luke Thompson got the Bulldogs going vs Montoursville with the teams 16th interception in the past 4 games to set up Shore for a short touchdown drive. Elijah Jordan hit paydirt on a 9 yard TD rush at the 5:37 mark of the first qtr (Herr PAT) to cap the 3 play drive and the Bulldogs led 7-0.

The Shore defense set up the offense again with a Brodie Herr fumble recovery at the Warrior 33 yard line and Bo Sechrist capped off an 8 play drive on a 15 yard run on a counter play to extend the Jersey Shore lead (Herr PAT) to 14-0.

On the next drive, Loomis connected with Dythan Tyson on a short out pass and Tyson did the rest breaking a tackle to sprint down the sideline for a 54 yard catch and run (Herr PAT); Jersey Shore extended their lead to 21-0

Brodie Herr added his 2nd FG of the year; 3:54 mark of 2nd and the Bulldogs led 24-0 at the half.

Jersey Shore added a quick score in the first minute after the break to open the send half on a halfback option pass from Elijah Jordan to Dathan Tyson. The 40 yard catch and run (Herr PAT) extended the Bulldog lead to 31-0.

Montoursville came right back and broke up the shutout with Christian Banks scoring on a 19 yard rush (Fry PAT) to bring the score to 31-7

Tyson added a highlight reel touchdown with just over a minute remaining in the 3rd on a 3rd and 6 play to spread the Jersey Shore lead (Herr PAT) to 38-7

Christian Bank then added his second rushing TD of the second half with a 13 yard run at the 1:02 mark of the 3rd Qtr to bring the score to 38-14.

Montoursville added a score in the fourth quarter on a Mussina to Fisher 11 yard pass (Fry PAT) to bring the final score to 38-21.

Dathan Tyson ended the game with 14 catches and 3 TDs to lead the Jersey Shore offense, while Christian Banks ran the ball very effectively for over 100 yards and 2 TDs.

Shore improves its season record to 7-0-1 while Montoursville falls to 3-4. The Bulldog’s game in Week # 9 has been cancelled due to the opponent, a team from Harlem, NY not having enough players to field a competitive team, Jersey Shore will return to action in 2 weeks back at Thompson Street Stadium to wrap up the regular season vs Central Mountain.
