With a rain storm that will provide showers from Illinois to Philadelphia heading this way, the Flaming Foliage Festival Committee has postponed the annual Parade of Queens from Saturday to Sunday at 1PM. All participants are welcomed and asked to still participate as the committee hopes to make the best of out of a dreary situation.
“We’ve been watching the forecast all week and it’s only gotten worse as we’re just a little over 24 hours away” said co-chair Pattie Rauch of the decision. “I really started to receive the phone calls this morning of units and bands canceling, that kind of started to take the decision out of our hands” added Rauch.
“It’s not ideal, but so many people have made contributions and the preparation from the committee, not having any type of parade just isn’t an option, hopefully everyone can rally around this difficult decision and make the best of things all weekend and particularly Sunday” added Queens Advisor Maria Ransom.
