Front-running pack leads LH Men’s Cross Country to victory at Bloomsburg

BLOOMSBURG, PA – Behind the front-running duo of Jakob Rager (Dallastown, Pa./Dallastown) and Morgan Gavitt (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville), the Lock Haven men’s cross country team picked up a thrilling team victory today (Saturday, Oct. 7) at the Bloomsburg Husky Invitational.

Rager was second overall of nearly 90 finishers with a time of 26:47.0 (8K) and Gavitt was third with a time of a 26:53.3.

The two helped Lock Haven take home the team title as the Bald Eagles bested the 10-team field.

The Haven men scored 49 points to edge out second-place Kutztown by one point, 49-50. Host Bloomsburg was third with 54 points.

Lock Haven entered today’s action ranked No. 7 in the Atlantic Region (DII) and today’s race helped the Bald Eagles preview the course that the 2023 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships will be run on later this month (Oct. 21).

Tanner Walter (New Columbia, Pa./Milton Area) finished 10th in 27:20.7.

Gavin Furey (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) placed 19th with a time of 27:44.1 and Kohen Stover (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) was 21st in 27:48.1, rounding out a tremendous effort from the Bald Eagles’ top-five today.
