South downs Lady Bucks twice to claim Mid-Penn tennis title

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The South Williamsport girls’ tennis team was able to beat the previously undefeated Lady Bucks of Bucktail High on successive days, Wednesday and Thursday, to claim undisputed possession of the Mid-Penn Conference title for 2023.
The Lady Mountainers traveled to Farwell Wednesday and handed Bucktail its first loss after 14 straight wins by a 3-2 score. Then on Thursday on their home courts South Side won by a 4-1 score to deny the Lady Bucks a share of the league crown.
South moves to 15-1 overall, 8-0 in conference play, Bucktail is now 14-2 overall.
