Bald Eagle men’s soccer drops road PSAC East contest at Millersville
The Bald Eagles opened PSAC Eastern Division action at Millersville University on Saturday afternoon.
MILLERSVILLE, PA – The Lock Haven men’s soccer team (2-2-1, 0-1 PSAC East) fell to Millersville University (4-0-1, 2-0-0 PSAC East) 3-0 on the road to open Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division play on Saturday afternoon.
The Bald Eagles hung tough with the regional-ranked Marauders through the first half, trailing 1-0 after 45 minutes.
However, Millersville added an insurance goal in the 70th minute before rounding out the scoring 16 minutes later with their third goal.
Despite the three goals allowed, Brady Freiwald (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) had a strong game in net, collecting a season-high 10 saves under the pressure of a game-high 19 shots from the Marauders.
Four different Bald Eagles recorded a shot on goal.
The Bald Eagles return home for a PSAC East match against East Stroudsburg University at 7 p.m. at Hubert on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at Jack Stadium.
