9/11 Moving Tribute underway in Lock Haven
LOCK HAVEN, PA – The Clinton County Veterans Affairs office is carrying out its tenth annual 9/11 Moving Tribute through downtown Lock Haven.
Former Veterans Affairs director Jennifer Hagaman was at the start-off site at Triangle Park on Monday. She said some 65 residents, veterans and non-veterans alike, are participating in the daylong observance of Sept. 11, 2001. They included the ROTC unit from Commonwealth University-Lock Haven, 25 of them on hand before daybreak Monday to lend their support. Participants are carrying flags throughout the downtown.
Hagaman, now with the state Department of Military and Veteerans Affairs, said “It is important that remember; that we never forget.” She noted that the ROTC students involved in the walk had not been born when the 9-11 attack occurred. Hagaman said members of the community are welcome to join the observance.
Hagaman said the remembrance will continue through 8:30 p.m. Monday. Everyone is invited to a group walk at 8 p.m. at Triangle Park. The event will end at 8:30 p.m., the time President George W. Bush addressed the nation in the aftermath of the 9-11 attack.
