FARWELL, PA- Just like clockwork, the Bucktail girls tennis team was back in the groove to start their 2023 season. The Lady Bucks swept the visiting Lady Green Hornets in every match to cruise to an easy 5-0 victory.
Bucktail’s new number one player, Alexis Lowery set the pace by handling Wellsboro’s Hannah Nuss 6-4, 3-6, 6-2.
Gigi Balchun and Eva Sockman each picked up quick wins for the Lady Bucks to round out singles play.
In doubles it was the Bucktail team of Giada DeMarte and Kendall Wagner downing the Wellsboro duo of Butler and Miller. Bucktail’s Kedda Bissman and Riley Salizzoni also earned a victory over the visiting team of Wetherbee and Lynn.
“It was a good showing for our first match of the season.” Said Bucktail coach Alison Heiser.
The victory over their NTL opponents has the Lady Bucks at 1-0 on the season and they will try to keep things going against another NTL foe on Tuesday when they host NP-Liberty. Match time is set for 4 p.m.
