Wildcat swimmers split meet in Williamsport
WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The CM girls swim team finished the regular season on Tuesday by beating Towanda 111-14 but falling to Williamsport 105-74. The Wildcats got a victory from the 200 Medley Relay of Abrianna Hosley, Camryn Bair, Ana Persun, and Autumn Garman to start the meet. Individual winners were Abrianna Hosley in the 200 IM & 500 Free, Camryn Bair in the 50 Free & 100 Breaststroke, and Ana Persun in the 100 Fly. Junior Maia Crowell had a district qualifying swim in the 100 Breaststroke.
The girls finished the regular season with a record of 10 – 4. The Wildcats have six swimmers (Camryn Bair, Ana Persun, Abrianna Hosley, Autumn Garman, Maia Crowell and Lily McWilliams) that will compete at Districts at Penn State on March 3-4
The Central Mountain boys swim team went 1-1 on Tuesday evening defeating Towanda 82 – 65 but falling to Williamsport 113 – 52. Jonathan Hughes was the lone winner for the Wildcats. Hughes went head-to-head with Parker Johnson in the 100 Breaststroke. The two swimmers were side by side going into the last turn. Hughes had a great last turn and kicked it into high gear to win the race.
The Wildcats will now prepare for Districts at Penn State University on March 3-4. Representing the Wildcats will be Jonathan Hughes, Neil Kaluzny, Owen Wunder, Rhys Swift, Arthur McGuire, and Bryce Warren.
