Wildcat wrestlers lead Ultimate Warrior after first day; five in semifinals
ALLPORT, PA – Central Mountain has moved five wrestlers into Saturday’s semifinal round at the 41-team Ultimate Warrior tourney at West Branch High School. That showing has put the Wildcats in a sizable lead in the team race.
Advancing through the first three rounds were Luke Simcox at 133, Dalton Perry 139, Griffin Walizer 145, Rocco Serafini 189, and Giovanni Tarantella 215; all underclassmen.
Four more CM wrestlers remain alive in the consolations: Carnell Noone 127, Braylen Corter, Jacob Weaver 171 and Brayden Blackwell at 285.
Team scores showed CM on top with 116 points and Mifflin County second with 96.5. Bald Eagle Area was in ninth place with 67.5 points.
Wrestling resumes Saturday with a fourth round of consolations as 9 a.m., followed by a JV tourney at 9:30 a.m. Semifinals are set for 11 a.m., consolation finals at 3 p.m. and the title matches at approximately 5:15 p.m.
