For the Record – Dec. 18, 2015
by Barbara Mastriania
Greetings from Florida …
Kathy Winner, a frequent visitor to Renovo sends holiday greetings from Florida to her friends and relatives – her brother Warren and his wife – and her buddies she meets as she walks around town when visiting the Renovo area.
Great column Jim …
Winner, a loyal reader of The Record said she thoroughly enjoys Jim Hedgeland’s memories of growing up in Cross Fork and Renovo and looks forward to his column – Jim’s Journey – each week. I agree with Kathy, his memories of his journey are thoroughly enjoyable. His column last week was a reminder of how much easier housekeeping is for most homemakers today compared to that of some of our mothers and grandmothers.
You’re a mean one Mr. Grinch …
Rumor has it the Grinch is in town, right here in Renovo and he’s up to no good. Rumor has it that someone has been breaking in homes and stealing packages off porches.
Y1O6.9 is back …
I saw a post from Glen Brooks on FaceBook that Renovo radio station Y106.9 is back on the air. That’s good news for Renovo.
Renovo is looking good …
Even without a snow cover, the Renovo area looks really good with the Christmas lights lining Huron and Erie avenues and all the colorful and beautiful Christmas lights on the houses all through town, South Renovo and the communities to both the east and west of the boroughs. They even say Farwell looks like Candy Cane Lane.
